available from Immediate Response Music...In this Staatsoper commission the young composer utilizes a stunningly rich sound-world comprising the last centuries and those to come and puts it all in a classical form wherein the solo trumpet begins with a simple motive which is then picked up by the orchestra and then fragmented, defined anew, spun into a new tapestry of sound.
Isabell Herzfeld, Tagesspiegel
...The heart of the program: Ari Benjamin Meyers' Millennium Daze, really a very clever and entertaining piece of the crossover type: a masterfully arranged kaleidoscope of classically through composed ensemble writing, noisy soundscapes, and jazz-like improvisation, all of it supported and propelled by rock rhythms and wild ostinatos.
